Hunting sling for a lever?

Go to Marlin's website. They sell a leather sling for around $15 that is a perfect match for the 336 in my opinion. Not fancy, just functional and the leather strap just goes well with the blue and walnut.

Yep, Marlin's slings are nice -- actually they're carry straps. I also like the Brownell's Latigo sling. I have a black one on my 336XLR.

I picked up a leather sling on clearance for .99 at Fleet Farm. While I'm not fond of the wide padded area, it does the job.

I've made several slings from a 1" belt blank and fix the length to suit me.

On a levergun, I don't like to wrap in like I do with my Garand and crankbolts. On my leverguns, I sling 'em muzzle down. From there I can get them into action faster than I can my sidearm. For a hunting situation, the most steadying I go for is to rest on the side of a tree... if there's time.

Great suggestions y'all, thanks. Tough decision between the latigo and the montana...they both look good.

What's funny about all this is that I've been shooting this rifle without a sling for so long that I'll probably be a worse shot with one than without.
