I dunno to my untrained eye they look nice.....course I like pink and blaze orange too.....

oh...could use some stippling tho, I always liked that on air rifle stocks.

I had a very nice walnut slab a friend gave me, but it checked bad. Not worth the time to try to make a stock blank just to have cracks in it.

I have a currly maple slab that may have the same fate, but looks to have some rot.

I just realized that while I do appreciate pretty wood in a stock, I really don't mind a stock made from plain wood at all.

Wood is pretty. But if you shoot Springer's synthetic stocks are much better. They hold screws tight better.

Personally I don't care what type of hardwood is used as long as it has character, and naturally that it's nicely shaped and finished.
