A little hunting story.

It was a cold and windy day today in the old gravel pit. I had been stalking this beast for at least 2 minutes and I was finally able to get a clear shot as I rested my CZ-452 Special against the trunk of a nearby tree about 25 yards away from my prey. I waited for the wind to calm a bit, took careful aim and squeezed the trigger. It was a direct hit, but the beast didn't fall. I quickly chambered another round and fired again when the wind was right. Another hit, no dice. It was mocking me! I chambered a third round. This time the beast fell dead only to get snagged in the branch below it. (Betcha didn't know they lived in trees, eh?) Drat!!!!! What to do, what to do??? I circled the tree a couple of times looking for the optimum shot. After putting several rounds into the branch that had snared my quarry, my trophy fell and I danced a little jig.

After getting home, I started counting points on it's rack. I had to stop at 250 since I can't count any higher than that. Even my wife was impressed! All in all, it was a successful hunt and I can't wait to go again next year around Christmas time. Below is a picture of the kill along with the rifle.
