I have managed to shear the threading for the shaft on my rock chuker... :neener:

So from now on will have to operate the press left handed...

If that doesnt work, then I guess will have to buy a new press.

If you call RCBS monday they will make it right. They mean it when they say lifetime warranty.

Thread insert will do it. Will call RCBS on tuesday... Monday I believe is a holiday in the US.

Lets see what happens... not a good week I think... blew the Lyman DPS on Sunday, spilled a over half a kilo of N165 in my office on Wednesday, and the rock chucker today. Might be a sign that hand loading isnt for me.. :(

I have never done it but I am sure you can get the part(s) by email. I know they are closed on fridays but I don't think monday is a holiday unless I am forgetting something.

Cinco de Mayo... To bad I'm on anti-biotics for this ear infection... I love that Mexican beer with fruit in it!!!

I have no clue.... Only noticed it when I was trying to full size .222 Remingtom Mag Case that didnt seem to want to be full sized and I found my self holding the lever without the press... :banghead:

Ok, I admit, that's a first for me. I would have bet against someone doing that w/a rockchucker.

Without see it I am about willing to bet that the handle was not threaded far into the hole and with working it the handle wobbled enough to wear out the threads. Can you thread the handle futher into the hole to catch new threads?
I may be off out in left field since I aint seen it but I too am amazed that you messed up a Rock Chucker.

I wore out a Rockchucker and sent it to RCBS for repair. About a week later, a brand new Rockchucker was delivered by the UPS man, at no charge. Their customer service can't be beat. I'm sure they will send him a new press if he calls them.

Hope this helps.

Fred

Presspuller you probably are right.

I cant thread the handle into that hole because about the top 40% of the threads are gone...

Will call RCBS on Monday... and see what happens..
