Walking around the gunshow with a pocket full of cash. Bad Nightlord, bad!

First score was this minty Mossberg M144-

Heavy barrel, beavertail stock, T-handle, railed hand stop, hooded multi-post front sight, and (most importantly) intact S-103 micrometer peep sight. This one has all the goodies. 😁

Condition is pretty much as-new! The wood has a nice oil finish too, unlike that nasty reddish shellac Mossberg was fond of using on lesser models.
Only little foibles are it's missing the red/green stoplight safety indicators and (shockingly expensive) magazine. Oh well, off to Ebay....

I would have been happy leaving with that beauty, but then bumped into a fella walking around with THIS-

Easily the most stunning interwar Mauser ES350B I've ever seen. Gorgeous hand-checkering, graduated sight rail, miniature Mauser action with flag safety and claw extractor....just perfect.
As if that wasn't sensory overload already, this one is also British-proofed and has a Parker-Hale PH16 rear micrometer sight with adjustable aperture. I suspect it was imported to England by Parker Hale before being passed to the States.

Ya, it wasn't cheap, but it's a superb example of one of the finest rimfire rifles ever crafted by man and I'm super stoked to shoot it.
What the heck, it's only money......😁

Saw these at Havlins
22peg.jpg

Red/Green fire/safe peg indicators used on all Mossberg 22s and bolt action shotguns from 1938-1986. $1 each
Item: REDPEG $1
Item: GRNPEG $1

Love it. I need to add something like this to my rifles. Right now just a Henry 30/30, Bushmaster AR15 pimped a little and a APX Shotgun. This forum is going to be dangerous for my wallet.

Not a bad bad thing keep saying good good thing.

I am a tiny bit green with envy, especially for the mini-mauser although I have aways had a soft spot for Mossbergs too. Enjoy them and let us know just how well they shoot.

The bad, bad thing statement confuses me. What is bad about it if you can afford it?

$20.00 Work's perfectly, after I got the 30 year old grease out of it. Do you believe those sights on a .22? IMG_1373.JPG

A good quality, accurate .22 is one of the great joys of life, IMO- even better if it's also a thing of beauty. 😊

Ive got one of the semiautos and it's stupid accurate, but requires regular cleaning or it starts goofing up. Wouldn't surprise me if it's got 50K rounds on the clock though...😊

Paid $35 for this 46B a few years ago-

Needed a lot of work, but its a good shooter now. Also have a primo 46M, but its not particularly accurate.
