Woohoo. I went into a gun shop and did very well. I cleared all the guns I handled and asked if I could dryfire them. I liked a lot of them, but liked ones I didn't think I'd like. I really liked the revolvers as much as or more than the semi-autos.

Then I left.

I asked daddy what he thought of my travels and he said he'd meet me back there in 20 minutes. So I turned around and went back. This time I walked out with a Ruger SP101 and a holster. :):D I'm not too fond of the holster yet, but I think I'll get used to it. I am so excited. My first gun. heehee. And it was almost all with my b-day money. gotta love not really spending money. :neener: I didn't spend money it was all the people who gave me money for my b-day. heehee. What a great day!!!!!!!!

 Now I gotta go shot it.

Congratulations! Welcome to the gun-totin' world.

An SP101 (.357 I assume?) is a well built revolver. Never sell that one. I have no doubt you'll buy/sell/trade many more firearms in the coming years, but you should never sell your first. Hand it down later if you can.

Enjoy!

While it wasn't my first firearm purchase, one of the early Ruger SP101s was my first revolver purchase. Mine even has the old:
.357 magnum cal.
125 gr. bullets

engraved on the barrel. :D

That little revolver did a lot of LE work with me, and even successfully assassinated a rabid Santa Claus.

Congratulations on your first firearm.

You cant just drop that in and run, I sure I'm not the only one who wants to hear more about this. :)

I remember that story. That was great. :) I can't help ya with the stuff in the keyboard. Typically I try not to drink and read at the same time.

BTW When I came back in the second time with daddy the guy behind the counter who had helped me the first time and who helped me buy complimented dad on how good I was. He was quite impressed that I cleared each and everything he handed me even though he had just cleared it in front of me.
The other funny thing was I told him he probably knew my dad cause he came in there often. I said I look like him only smaller and in the female version. He didn't remember till I was leaving and said something when I came back when he told me that he remembered who dad was since he had been there earlier that morning.

God damn, Gus; you are SUCH a girl!!!!!!
Congrats on your independant actions!! Now enjoy!

Congratulations on your first gun. May you have many years of safe, good fun and may it be the first of many fine weapons in your collection! :D

Good Kid and it was a great buy, Sorry C.R. Sam it's not a S&W but They will come, Sorry Skunky but it is not quite Tactical, but it has "Black" grip on it, At least it is a Wheelie. The counter guy was impressed with the way she handled the guns she looked at and with the fact she knew what she was looking for. She got a nice gun and we will wring it out at the range in a few days, NOW we have to break it to her mother.

thanks THr folks for helping to anchor some good learnin' in her noggin.

Happy birthday Kid.
