From what I can tell by lurking, most here on THR are interested in bettering themselves and gaining more knowledge. I've started a web video series to educate people and promote firearms in a positive way. Seems like there are some intelligent gun owners here. Seems like this crowd might appreciate my work. I keep it wholesome, and smart.

Awesome, glad to hear it. What were you expecting? Guns welded together in the shape of a robot or something?

haha no. I guess the first thought was really flashy guns with nickel and gold all over them that I really wouldnt want to shoot.

This was deff better. :cool: Im not so into those flashy guns.

I hope some one comes up with some really sweet ideas for you, im not that creative but look forward to seeing another video. Good Luck
 
It depends on:

1. Size
2. Amount of Stippling (bullets) required
3. Shipment cost

I know he had a few hundred dollars in ammo, chemicals (to make it rust), and the metal. He also had over 10 hours in it.

I'd be happy to get you in touch with him. I've always thought this would be quite interesting as a sign on the front of a gun shop. That would be incredibly awesome.

I was pretty mesmerized by his ability to "see" the image during the shoot. To me it just looked like a bunch of bullet holes at first. He knew where to make the pattern more dense, and where to make it more sparse. It's a tradeoff between rushing to get done, and taking your time to make sure your aim is true. The P-51 mustang is my favorite by far.

Too cool mrpennywhistle. Absolutely. Looks like fun as well. Doing two things you love at once. How great is that? Dynamic kinetic art. Gotta love it.
 
If you actually sit through and watch the entire video it is a cool concept and resulting product ("art"). You should have shown a final product before going into the "how to" to keep interest. I clicked it off after a minute first, then read the comments here and figured I was missing something and watched the whole thing.

A suggestion (so take it as you please, or don't) of mine would be to try making the picture by nothing but bullet holes. It would be similar to cross etching in tradional art, where you make the shading by making the lines closer together and the brighter areas by making the lines farther apart. In your case you'd make the bullet holes closer for shadows and farther for the brighter areas. It would definitely take longer and still might not look any better, but something I would at least give a try.
 
Interesting point Charle0... it would certainly take more attention to detail and more ammo. But.... since when has more ammo been a bad thing?
