I found all the missing ammo.

At $67 a hundred its going to stay right there on the shelf. Thats more than I'm willing to pay for WWB.

It does make me look a little differently at the boxes of WWB in my ammo cabinet that I bought for $35 last year thinking that $35 was a little steep for ball ammo. I'm a little hesitant to crack one open knowing that it may be a while before I can replace it at a reasonable price.

On the other hand, it's nice to know that in a pinch I could drive down the street and get a box if I really needed it. It's also nice to know that that $60 ammo isn't going anywhere fast.

I second you on that!

Most of my WWB was bought several years ago, when .45 was going for $19.95 and 9mm was $9.99 at Walmart.

:):)

Wish the 9mm was still going for that at WM. I used up all of it I ever got. :( Used to buy it every payday, but I wasn't reloading 9mm since it was so cheap, it just wasn't worth the time. Got buckets of brass from those days, and I'm reloading it now, but I would rather just buy some bulk boxes and go shooting.

I ordered 1000 puled bullets and 500 reconditioned .308 cases in early Jan and I was notified that they shipped today. I'm ready, got primers and 8lbs of Varget. Surely things are looking up. I also got some Norma .308 for $18.99 a box. Cabelas had the Norma .308 and .223 rounds for a little bit more money.

The 22lr supply is still on gunbroker because fools are still willing to pay .10+ in some cases per round. When people stop paying gouging prices ammo grabbers won't be buying all they can to resell to others at 3-4x's their cost. A man I personally know stalks Walmart in the mornings to get the latest supply. He offered to sell me 550 for $60. I declined and told him I would pay his cost for a box. He declined. When supply comes back and he can no longer rip people off and offers his ammo at "at cost" prices I'll still decline because people like him take gross advantage of most who weren't able to find ammo because of people like him.

Here in the Tri-state area of AZ along the Colorado River, there is hardly anything to be found.

It is a shame, after all these years in business, LGS R-Guns in Lake Havasu City will be closing their doors. And the reason is self evident, no ammo or reloading supplies, and except for some milsurps, they have almost next to nothing to sell.

A local store has had exactly zero .22LR for the past 3 ammo days I've gone there early to wait.

Earlier this week I was in there for something else & the manager asked if I was going to show up. Said they were getting 15 bulk packs in.

I started a new job that very day....:banghead:

CTD and many LGS are pursuing a short-term pricing strategy that will bite them in the end. If this is the only way they can survive for the moment, so be it, but the outlook for them is not good. The big box stores have non-gun revenue streams that allow them more flexibility now and understandably will maintain a larger market share ahead.

Let me guess, 5 minutes after you took that photo two guys came in and cleaned out all the shelves. LOL

You guys are gonna hate me...

Last week I picked up four 525 round boxes of Remington High Velocity 36gr ammunition for $22 a box at Dick's Sporting Goods. (Went to more than one store.)

Yesterday, I went to Dick's for something else and stopped by the gun counter...they had one remaining box of Remington Thunderbolt (40gr, 500 count) for $22.

Given my wife is practicing for a rifle competition among the Boy Scout leaders, I was happy to pick all this up. Especially since it also meant I could get in some decent target shooting as well...and get our three kids to the range, too.

Things are picking up, guys. Hang in there!

Stopped by top LGS in the area yesterday for scope rings. Browsed ammo. Shy on .223 but all others were there. He even offered a 100 rd ration of CCI mini-mags. We talked about pricing and he told me he was paying full MSRP from the distributer.
