Two CBobs!

My good friend Greg bought my 2008 CBob from me a year ago. He rubs it in every time he sees me at work. I sold it to him because I felt I didn't need it. My dad had given me a Colt Combat Elite before he passed away and I didn't feel a need to have two 1911s.

I was mistaken. There are guns you want, despite whatever needs you may have. I wanted a CBob again.

We happened to go to a local gunshop together and they had an '09 CBob listed at $1250. There aren't many left out there since Dan Wesson has discontinued the model for 2010 in favor of the more expensive VBob. The shop's salesman said he'd sell me the CBob for $1000. I didn't buy it right then, but I sure thought about it.

The next day I sold my 1988 Sig P220 (satin nickel consecutive serial numbered gun from a pair I bought new back then) and my Tanfoglio Witness so I could buy the CBob. I still have my other P220 and I had bought a Tanfoglio Witness Match.

I bought a set of birdseye maple handles from Sarge at www.thefinergrain.com for my CBob and the grips are amazing. Perfect fit and finish, handsome looks, and they feel like a million bucks! They only cost $88 dollars shipped and that's a great deal. If you have a 1911 of any kind, be sure to check out Sarge's custom grips. Amazing! But be careful, I also bought a birdseye maple jewelry box for our daughter for Valentine's Day off his website!
