When my coworker showed up to work today, he told me that his friend wanted to sell a Smith model 10 with a short barrel. He said it had some holster wear but was in very good shape. I told him I was interested if the price was right.
He texted his friend and was told $350. I told him to tell his friend that I would buy it. We met up a little later and now I am the owner of a Smith & Wesson round butt Model 10-5 with a two inch barrel.
I guess my justification for this purchase is it’s my Birthday gift to myself.:D Like I need justification to spend my money on guns. My Ex-wife really doesn’t care how much money I spend on guns.:)
Oh! The holster came with the gun

murf

Nice gun. Put it some place you won't lose it. We have seen the pictures.
You would be surprised how easy it is to misplace guns in a three bedroom house with a workshop. But most often it doesn’t take long to find something that I remember I have.
This little K frame will not be lonely , it will have brothers to keep it company.

Semper fi and happy 242nd USMC Birthday, Gunny. If a Marine can't purchase a firearm once a year, then he needs to re-enlist and get one for free courtesy of the U.S.M.C...well, maybe not a "free" or "new" firearm, but one that the Army has discarded and that Marines are elated to receive as a "hand-me-down" and prove that accuracy is in the hands of the shooter, not the firearm.
Sweet acquisition!
retired, USMC, infantry, 1976-1996

p.s. Put a blue Tyler T-Grip on that bad boy...sure makes an improvement on the grip without changing its beautiful curves.

Former Army SGT here and a pogue (25U was my MOS, hoahh signal corps!) I have several friends from the marines that can't hit worth a damn with my revolvers, they also don't like glocks either go figure but give them a Sig and youll see them hit at least the paper once or twice

2"M10s are hard to find by me. I had a 2" M64 I let go almost 40 years ago. One I regret giving up.

That’s really nice. The Standard Catalog says that the -5 change, in which the width of the front sight was changed, happened in 1962. The revolver sure looks good for being 50+ years old!

Happy birthday.

Happy Birthday and Semper Fi Brother.
I think I have a T-Grip somewhere in my shop. Just have to find the rest of the gun parts.

Now how come we can't find them as curio and relic transferable? The 50 year old rule is not always followed!

i just qualified today with a 2" Model 10-8. That is a good price for today, especially with a holster. I paid $175 for mine used 24 years ago.
