I guess this deer is running from something

    "boo-coo" or "Beaucoup". I'm guessing the "boo-coo" come from spending some time in Vietnam. (just a guess) if so, "Welcome Home"!

    any thoughts that the deer is running, but not from anything?

    I have gotten a lot of different "reaction" shots from my game cams. I usually have them all set to take two shots and then a minute between when they take two more. Some of them look like yours in the first shot, then the second one will have nothing but a dust cloud.

    I have some like you said where there are deer there feeding, and the next shot is hogs. I have had both deer and hogs react for what ever reason to the IR coming on, and then plenty where they just pay no attention at all.

    One thing I have found though, is that an older bigger buck will usually only get one pic taken with the IR shining, and no more. If I DO manage to catch it again at night, it is usually trialing or chasing a doe, or it's a daytime shot. The older they are the smarter they get, and the less they put up with stuff that just ain't right.
