I hope they renew the assault weapons ban

No on a serious note though . Just exactly what does the ban cover ?? Ok so I know we can now have flash hiders and bayo's on AR's. And they can now make larger capacity mags , but what about other stuff ?? Can I put a folding stock ,bayo and hi cap mag on my SKS now ?? How about a mini 14? The STG58 parts kit I built ,can I now put on the original flash hider ? What about all the US parts required on these builds ? How does this affect my home built 1919 can I put a flash hider and bayo on it ? Why is it I was required to put 7 US parts on the FAL but not on the 1919 , both were imports??? The legal maze we gun owners must sort through now days is incredible .

You can do everything you mention in your post but you must make sure that if you do, the firearm has no more than 10 imported parts. Your 1919 is an IZZIE I infer and does not meet the part rule. That is ok, because it did not meet the assault weapon definition as it only had one evil feature...the ability to accept a high capacity feeding device. It does not have a pistol grip that conspicuous protrudes down, nor did it have any other cool features like a bayo lug or flash supressor.

That, my friend, is a K5 railroad gun, circa 1940-1945. Built by the Germans. 280mm, IIRC. That one is (I think) at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
