I just bought a .22 rifle for $455

    It's a Marlin 39 Mountie, made in 1959.

    Hello whats the difference in a mountie and a 39a? I just bought one made in 1953 i think

    The Mountie is basically a carbine. Shorter barrel, straight stock.

    Great buy, congrats. I only recently became aware of the 16" version of the venerable Md 39. I have seen two at shows in the last few months and am sorely tempted.
