It's a P226, with tac light front rail, with night sights for $850. Probably too late to ask, this is a reasonable deal?

Depending on where you are, and actually, pretty much anywhere, yes, it's about the going rate. Prices on Sigs are rising.

Regardless, you now own one of the finest combat firearms in the world. Go forth and conquer.

Brand new you may have paid a little much depending on where you're at, but not too bad. Enjoy your new pistol.

I don't think that's a bad price for a gun of that quality that will last you the rest of your life. Nice choice.

As John Taffin says, "the time to ask price is BEFORE you buy!", but also, "You can never pay too much for a gun,....only too soon!".....five years from now, you'll probably be patting yourself on the back....

I purchased a Sig Equinox in .45 a few years back.. Great gun, fun to shoot.. I can't remember exactly what I paid but it is a great gun to have; very well balanced.. Buy a few more and you will start to get fuzzy on the prices also...:D

That price seems to be fairly on par with what i've seen at a lot of places. The P series are fine pistols. I hope to add a P220 SAO to my collection sometime in the future.

gudel... great gun, you'll love it!! You didn't really get screwed, but could have easily got it for $75 cheaper... Also, could have looked into the CPOs (for about $550+).
But don't lose any sleep over it... you did OK, now enjoy it!!

Now with pics:

A note on the finish: this particular one seems to be very good compared to some of the posts people complain about poor finish.
There's a section in slide where the guide rods slides in (under the front sight just below where the barrel sits) that wasn't finished like the rest of the gun. They probably couldn't get it in to such small spaces. Oh well, cosmetic stuff I suppose, as long as it doesn't rust.

We'll see about to hell and back reliability. Here another pic with my two other proven 100% reliability performers:

Sig P226

Love your first picture, man! It just now became my wallpaper. Now I have to go out and buy one to complement my P228.

I'd pay what you did for that in a heartbeat. Guns are an investment. Take care of it and buy at least two more to go with it.

Congratulations
