K frames. Black Hawks. N frames. Super Black Hawks. Security Sixes and SP101s.
There, I have made my confession.
Obviously, the 357 dia is in the high rank. 44/45 second.
My hunting land is a small 45 acre patch of timber/creek bottom I was lucky enough to buy in ‘05 and I can shoot from 0 to 125 yards. Game, deer, ‘yotes, turkey, and varmints.
I’ve taken only three deer with a handgun and all were with the 357 which is not my cartridge of choice but was the cartridge of opportunity.
Sorry if you got this far expecting something monumental but I was depressed, bored and needed to talk about guns.
Favorites: target, a 15. Carry, SP101. Hunting, either Super Blackhawk, 29-2, or 357 Blackhawk. Sentimental shooting, dad’s 19.
What are your revolver choices?

These are my faves. My SW 25-5 with the 8+ inch barrel. Followed by my Ruger SBH 7.5 inch barrel. My SP101 327 mag and GP100 357 i also like very much. I have others too that im happy with as well.

My favorites:

• S&W 327 Night Guard - HD, SD, Targets, and it’s dang cool.
• S&W 25-15 .45 Colt. I bought it because I have wanted one for years for no real good reason.
• Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum, my latest acquisition and it’s growing on me big time. Not sure why I waited so long to buy one.
• Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt 7.5” Bbl stainless. Bought it for CAS. It became a favorite.
• S&W 442-1. My favorite CCW gun. It was my first revolver. Bought it in ‘97. It goes great with it’s New York reload, my model 36.

I will stop here. I found that I was on my way to listing all my revolvers. They are all “favorites”.

Talking about guns is always great! Thank you for your post. I’ve taken my S&W 28-2 on countless hikes, I have access to 1200 acres (I work for those that own it) in Wisconsin, the .357 is carried for Coyotes, Bear, and feral dogs.
I load it with 168 grain hard cast SWC over a stout charge of 2400 powder.
Keep posting!

Thanks for sharing! Always good to hear of another revolver fan. My current favorites are SW 627 357 snub and 3 inch Ruger GP100. I’m on the hunt for either a SW 640 or Kimber K6s. Your property sounds wonderful. It is such a nice thing to be able to shoot on your own land when you want.

PapaG - Ruger Single Six in .22LR/Mag, and a Ruger GP-100 in .357 with a 4" barrel, and a S&W in .32-20 with a 6" barrel. And then there are the 4 automatics, .22 Mag, .25 ACP, .32 ACP, and .380 ACP.

I have never taken a deer with a .357 but a good buddy of mine a Taurus 66 with a 6” barrel is all he owns. Probably one of the best hunters I have ever seen. A trip with him is always the same. Go out in the morning, get settled and find your spot. About an hour in you hear a shot in the distance. Come back for lunch he has his feet up and a dressed deer is hanging at the camp. We always joke that he is using the same box of ammo for the last decade. At one round a season a box will last a long time.

I don't really have a favorite, I love them all. The one I depend on most though is a gp100. Its built like a tank, accurate andI like the way it fits my hand. It does not have the lightest trigger on the planet but it gets the job done.

I picked this up Friday so right now it's my favorite. Cimarron 44 mag.

Very nice. I have the Taylor & Co. version because it had a better trigger than the Cimarron version next to it in the display case. I am not putting down your Cimarron. I think it is strictly the luck of the draw between the two as they are pretty much identical. I really like the 1860 Army sized grip.

You could have stopped after the first one, K frame.

Have to say, they're my favorite.

Hope you're feeling better!

IMG_2147 (1).JPG IMG_2119 (2).JPG IMG_2281.JPG IMG_2099 (2).JPG I like my model 10's, 15-2 Combat masterpiece & model 64 k frames as well as n frame Model 28-2 4". I like my Ruger Speed Sixes & Service Six, my GP100s, DW 15-2s and Colt Trooper. I guess I like them all and their differences. The past few years though I've been drawn to S&W, DW and Ruger 357s & 38spl with 2.5", 2 3/4" & 3 inch barrels which get the most range time.

I like every revolver I own.
Favorites include S&W N frames in. 357Mag, .41Mag, .44Mag and .45Colt, S&W L frame .357Mag Silhouette Model, Ruger BlackHawks in just about any caliber, Dan Wesson revolvers, Virginian Dragoons and Uberti/Pietta SAA clones, Schofield clones and Remington 1875 clones, plus Colt Troopers.

I own other revolvers and a fair number of semi automatic handguns as well.
What can I say...I like guns.

As long as it isn’t an air weight J frame S&W I am a fan..:D
Right. I only have the J-frame because it fits nicely in my pocket. Otherwise favorites in my collection include S&W 686+ .357 Magnum, Charter Arms 45 Colt, and Interarms Virginian Dragoon 44 Magnum SA.
