At Saturday's gun show I traded an Airweight Kit gun that I rarely shot for a 1927 Colt Officer's Model .38 Special. I have not had a Colt in the remuda for decades, but a 96-year old that locks up like a Python and has a smooth 2 lb. single action trigger and a somewhat less common 7.5 inch barrel... worth a chance!
This grandpa appears to like my homecast 148 grain wadcutters over 3.0 grains of Bullseye--
--or 4.0 grains of BE-86--
(10 yards, elbows rested). I don't see any need to feed grandpa anything more powerful. He will get out more than the Kit Gun did.
