Front Sight will be amazing, and well worth it, Your wife will definitely be hooked.

I like your style though, its respectable. You can't catch as much flak if you drag the wife and kids down with you, right?

I got into firearms last year, so I can quickly and easily recap.

2007:
Browning Buckmark
Yugo M70AB2 AK-47

Total expenditures: About $1000 including ammo

2008 thus far:
Sig Sauer P226
Rock River Standard (AR-15) A2
Rock River Mid-Length AP4 Carbine
Mosin Nagant 91/30

Total expenditures in 3 months: About $4,000 including ammo.

I plan to keep the pace nearly at this level... so...

Is there a word that means "sixteen" that I can add the "uple" suffix to??? :(

Scott,
Get a C&R license if you really want things to take off. You can also get dealer prices from Midway, Brownells and others.

Resistance is futile. Give in to the Force, and be a happier camper! Look at it this way, if hard times befall you, you have some invested capital that is far more valuable than cash. You can eat with it, protect yourself with it, or barter for something else of value. And if nothing else works to satisfy your mental dilemma, they're just a helluva lotta fun to go and burn some powder with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the family:evil:

For about 15 years I've had a 12 ga and a .30-06 for hunting, but both were passed down/given to me. I actually bought my first gun in Dec. 2007 and I've gotten one every month since

2007
Dec. - Remington 870 Express Magnum 12 ga

2008
Jan. - AR-15 (Bushmaster) 5.56mm
Feb. - Colt 1991 .45ACP
Mar. - Smith & Wesson 686-1 .357 Mag.
I know there will be one for April, just not sure which one yet... we'll see after the gun show this weekend :D

It's not how much, or how many you have people!

Do you think about guns when you wake up?

Do you think about guns going to sleep?

Do you often have dreams about firearms?

Do you spend more than you should on guns?

Do you spend more than you should on ammo and accessories?

Do you frequently put off household chores or responsibilities to go the range or gun show?

Do you constantly make excuses to your spouse or loved ones why you absolutely have to have the next firearm you're about to purchase?

Are constantly reading THEHIGHROAD? Or other gun-related boards?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, your probably fine, so don't worry about it! Just relax..

You do have a problem, where are your backups?

I'm working on that. Replacing the Bersa 380 CC with the Kahr P9 Covert was a good start. I'm going to add a Ruger LCP in a few months when they become more available. I'll probably end up with a J-Frame snubby at some point, but not this year. I think that should about cover it.

I bought my first gun in 2006 also. Must have been a good year.

2006
Ruger MK II
S&W 60 Chief's special
CCW License

2007
HK USP 40 Compact
Complete reloading setup

2008
S&W 629 44Mag, 8 3/8 barrel, scoped (boy is that thing fun)
Savage 20g single shot
Savage 20g pump
C&R License (M44 Nagant is on the way)

My wife doesn't understand, but she's been great what with all the other stuff like holsters, and reloading supplies etc. I keep saying that there's just this one more thing, but she knows it's not true. I think she kinda likes the fact that we have a few guns around.

AR15 upper 5.56 24in varmint
AR15 upper 5.56 20in standard
AR15 upper 5.56 20in SDM
M1 Garand (going to Perry might as well pick up one while I am there

You think you got problems bud my year is planned out and strategically organized to make this happen.

Another sign (or three) that you may have a problem:
..you go to a gun show with a shopping list (and it's not for groceries)
..you spend an inordinate amount of time on GunBroker or AuctionArms
..you just joined a firearms collecting group, and went LIFE membership
..you consider John Moses Browning a Higher Power
..you walk into your local purveyor of fine firearms, and Nikki the Gun Babe starts reaching for a Form 4473
..you download the current CDNN catalog as soon as it becomes available online, and they send you the printed versions
..you plan your trip to Las Vegas to coincide with a gun show at Cashman Center
..you approach a table at a gun show and ask if they accept "cash with proper ID" and they do

I sold the VAST majority of my guns (about 50) to pay for my divorce, so I can say that you guys need to pick up the pace to be where is was at that point in time. Now I am slowing trying to build up but with two boys who are shotters also "my" collection isn't growing nearly as fast as I would like. Each purchase I make has to be mirrored 2 more times because they just HAVE to have one if dad does.

I may have a gun problem
I bought my first gun in August 2006 and its been down-hill ever since:
In Gun talk... down hill is up hill.
I had a collection...sold it years ago. Got the bug to start shooting again and the collection came right back. Hi, My name is Frank. I have more guns than brains.

i was reading on the Black powder section then started to think and do research. Then said the heck with it and bought a CVA 50 cal Black powder in line. Then i bought an 1851 44cal. Revolver. This was December 19th. I now own 4 Black powder revolvers and the 50 Cal Rifle.

this is on top of what i already own.

2006:
Yugo m70 Underfolder AK

Next, I'll just need ammo for everything and be set :)

Welcome to the club!

My name is Nate and I'm a gun-o-holic.

So far in 2008 I've picked up....
Ruger Service Six
Glock 27
Sig 229
Israeli FN K98

2007, well lets see....
Bushmaster M4A3
FN High Power
Browning High Power
Norinco 1893/97
S&W M&P40
Ruger SR9
L1A1
Savage 10FP
Rem 700 LTR
Two Russian Makarov's (one sold)
Three AK's.....
•Yugo M70B1
•Converted Saiga (7.62)
•Bulgarian SLR-95
Thompson 1927A-1
Norinco SKS

This is only about half my total collection:D

I should point out that I had to sell a few of my guns this year to pay off some bills that caught up with me and besides I also want money to put towards a Bushmaster ACR and a GSG-5 if I can get my hands on either or both this year. So in the past few weeks I've been thinning out my collection and decided to sell off my M&P, L1A1, Savage, PX4, Norinco SKS and one of my Makarovs. I'm trying to be more picky this year about what I buy, no more impulse buying like last year:banghead:

I should also point out that I'm single and have no kids....I also drive a ten year old car and live in an apartment. My money goes mostly to guns, groceries and gas for my car, I'm only a big spender when it comes to guns.

The only fight I have with my wife about guns is whose turn is to buy 1. We are on our 3rd safe since 2004 and between us we have 38 guns. SDC I have the money for the guns but the ammo is a different story... Buying a weeks worth of ammo is almost as bad as pulling up to the gas pump..

In 2007 I purchased 4 firearms. So far this year I bought 3 and am looking to make my 4th purchase this month. I am not a gunaholic yet, but I am headed down that road. Maybe you'll see me on A&E's Intervention.

I really really do not want to talk about last year. It was bad.
So far this year.
2 Tromix Saiga 12 ga
92fs Why beacuse it was 350.00 NIB
Semi PKM
Semi RPD
Rising Sun KRINK in 5.45
Arsenal SBR Krink in .223
Gemtec HALO 2 on order.
Pile-o-Magazines (because the end is near)
Bigger Pile-o-Ammo See above
And I am flying to AZ for a gun show in 2.4 weeks.
I have money and I will use it:banghead:
