Has anyone seen this?

http://xdspistol.com/

Springfield's new xds 4.0.

It is 9mm xds with a 4 inch barrel. Same everything else, just a 0.7 inch longer barrel and slide.

I'm pretty sure I want this.

I suspected they would release a longer version, when they started calling the original the XD(S)3.3" everywhere.

Interesting, and I'd like the CCO proportions as well - but quite a way down the list after the debacle of the original 2 releases. I'll get around to sending those in soon, and it will be a while before I think about getting another XD(S).

Might buy a conversion if they sold it that way.

I have 2 of the 3.3 XDs 45's. One has been back for the recall, 6 weeks gone, and the other is leaving soon.
I like the XDs as is, if I'm gonna go longer I want more capacity since the extra length puts it out of pocket carry status in my normal blue jeans attire.
I really have no interest in the 9 short or long as I have other 9's that are smaller than even the 3.3 if I want to carry a 9.
I really thought they'd have a .40 out by now....

Keep beatin' that horse Springfield. I have a XD9SC that I really like, but it gets tiring to hear about the same gun over and over again.

It the 4.0 had been out originally at the same time as the 3.3, I may have bought that one. It'd be harder to pocket carry though. If I was going to go bigger than the original, then I'd get the 3.8 so I had more rounds.

Nice to have options, but I don't see myself running out to trade up when mine has been 100% from the get go.

I have the XDS 45 3.3.
I seriously doubt that .7 inch more barrel length will do anything that the 3.3 inch barrel won't do.

Don't know why I wrote XDX. :)

If I were buying a XDS for the first time now, it would still be the XDS 3.3.

Now if they make a 40 S&W 3.3 XDS I'll buy that.

I think I'd like to see/handle one. With the grip extension, this is essentially the 'single stack' Glock 19/XD Service/M&P type 9MM lots of folks have been clamoring for.

Did the Springer folks have trouble with XDs spontaneously going FA a while back? I would buy a real Springfield but I'm not sure about those Croatian ones like the XD family. No knock if you've had good luck with them, just going by the recall notices.

That problem is what the recall was for.
Fixed XDs won't chainfire, or slam fire upon loading (the other problem).
Apparently there was not a large problem with the guns before the recall, it was largely precautionary. But Springfield wanted to do due diligence considering the possible alternative which could be serious given it meant unintended discharge of the gun.
I own a XDs 45 and it's been through the recall, and I certainly trust it as a CCW piece. I wouldn't have it if otherwise.

maybe the extra length will stop misfires like my doggone XDs 3.3. Just shot mine yesterday after recall and it still will not reliably run through a full magazine. i want to like the XDs, i really do. but there's something off.

I can't do skinny pistols. As a matter of fact I made my CZ 97b 'fatter' with a new grip. Gotta have that coke-bottle shape.

I'll never forget holding one of this Taurus Slim guns at a show. My credit card was easier to grasp.
