I have a Buckmark URX That had a 5.5" slabside barrel on it. I replaced the barrel with a round bull barrel that had been cut to 4" and threaded for a new toy.:D

With the old barrel, the pistol is a tack driver at 25 feet. With the new barrel, it is shooting about 8" high at 25 feet.:banghead:

Without doing anything to the rear sight, what are my options for the front sight? File?

That would move POI higher still. You'll need a taller front sight. I forget the formula, you can Google it. It will entail knowing your present POI, sight radius (length between front and rear sights) and current front sight height.

A link that should help. In your case multiply sight radius by 8 (representing 8" high) and divide by 300 (25' converted to inches). Result + current sight height = new height. Best of luck.

I always have sight issues. Trying to figure whether to go up, down, left, right etc.

I was thinking less when you say more.

Is there a taller front sight made for the Buckmark?

    This one might work.

How tall is the stock blade?

Just got slabside barrel out. The barrel is a little thicker and the front sight is taller.

After doing some measuring, the sight on the 4" barrel needs to be .058 taller to equal the same on the slabside barrel. Which is close to 1/16".

Is that TS sight .42 on the blade?

My 4" barrel blade measures right at .200. Slabside blade is .220. Round barrel complete sight is .370. Slabside complete sight is .409.

The old barrel doesn't matter. Because the sight radius is different you'll need the aforementioned formula for the correct height.

    8 + X divided by 300 = ___ + .370 = new height. If you have a 4" barrel and sight radius is say 8", the 8+8 =16 divided by 300 = .053 +.370 = .423 from bottom of dovetail to top of sight.
