I think I'm on a big-bore snubbie phase.

Well, for a very long while, I've had an original large frame Ruger Vaquero in .45 Colt. Mine looks just like this.

Then I went and got me a 1970s production Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 Special and just recently acquired a Rossi Model 441 (really it is just a rebadged Taurus Tracker M44C) in .44 Magnum.

Well, now I want a Charter Arms Bulldog XL in .45 Colt.

I can stop any time. Really, I can.

Snubbies can be addicting. I have a Rossi 720 44 Special, a Taurus 450 w/ a ported 2" barrel (surprisingly easy to control and pretty accurate), A S&W 629 w/ 3"
barrel. I am looking at a Taurus 431 on GB. If they don't bid it up crazy high I may just bid.
The older Taurus and Rossi big-bore snubbies are really gaining popularity these days. Guns that int he past, I looked down at. Then, the stupidity of youth left me and I see all the deals I let pass me by.

Not mine!! No way! Shot a HOTTT buffalo bore 305 44mag in 629 recently and won’t do that again!!! Ever
the 629 hurts to shoot full house, the power goes right in your palm! Ouch!

The Black Hawk is way more pleasant with a rocking recoil! And the 4” Tracker with ports is a pleaser to shoot!

kinda itching for a Colt Kodiak, heavy gun with big old ports

It’s a phase many of us admit to, only mine were mostly .38 Specials. (I stopped at 5 or 6 .38’s I think? 🤔 )

My only big bore “snub” is a GP 100 .44 Spl. That gun isn’t quite what I would call a “classic snub” like the Bulldog .44, but it’s a fun gun to shoot.

As for quitting, don’t even try. We here at Enablers Unanimous won’t let you.

Good luck finding that .45 Colt!

Stay safe.

5 or 6 .38s? Broski, I simply have 5 or 6 .32 S&Ws, in just .38 Special snubbies alone, I'm in the high teens or 20s by those point.

Really! no big bores… you Got them 9mm Southern California wrist!?!?! 😆

Hey @Tallball, the nice ting about the Charter Arms is that your Pit Bull .45 ACP is built on the same frame as the Bulldog XL .45 Colt. In fact, Charter Arms will fit a spare cylinder assembly in either chambering to either gun. That's what I plan on doing, getting the Bulldog XL .45 Colt and having them fit a spare .45 ACP cylinder assembly to it.

I have the same rossi 441. It was too cheap at academy many moons ago to pass up. 1745346956033.jpeg

I’m certainly not king of the snubs! 6 snub .38’s for me is plenty. Add another 6 longer barreled .38’s, and I’m at a decent 12. Toss in the .357’s (and a Rossi 92), and I could join the 20 + .38 club as well. :D

.22 rimfires? Thats where I am a bit more heavily vested.

Stay safe.

Well, I went to my local gun shop to get my Rossi .44 Mag lever-action that I ordered.

And while I was there, what is sitting on the wall rack? A brand-new Charter Arms Pitbull in .45 ACP. I still want the .45 Colt, but hey, I'm not going to say no to another .45 ACP wheel-gun either. So, I drew down a Benjamin and told the shop owner to put that aside for me, I'll pick it up next week.

This week, my folding money is being spent on the septic tank. :cuss:

So, in the long run, I'll have me a Charter Arms XL frame in .45 ACP and in .45 Colt. :D

Oh, and the Rossi R92 in .44 Magnum is a nice piece too. It makes a nice companion to my already owned Rossi R92 in .45 Colt. Now all my S&W Model 29s have a companion rifle for it.

how do you know the Old Charter Arms Bulldog vs. the New ones?

they got a .44 Special Bulldog at a local Pawn shop. But I want to Old Stuff

Just won a Lew Horton 624 on GB. $808 I couldn't believe it. I was looking at a Lew Horton model 24 at a pawn shop. They wanted $1500 and I offered $1250. They sold it at a local gun show the following weekend.
Don't even know why I wanted this one, I certainly didn't need it. 44 Special is like a disease or an addiction. That gives me about 5 in that caliber. I was just about ready to pull the trigger on a Ruger Toklat. Glad I didn't.

Other than markings and such, with the classic 3" Bulldog, the front sight is the dead giveaway.
