Hey THR,
I just had a very odd coincidence. My friend is selling his gently used GP 100 blued 6" for $300 because he needs money. First of all, this seems like a pretty good price. Second of all, one of my paychecks was $357 and change. Id like to help him out, and Ive also had my eye on a gp. Any thoghts?

Things happen how, when, where, and with whom they are supposed to happen.

If you pass up this opportunity this time, there will be a tingling in the back of your mind the next time one comes on your radar, and you will learn to trust it.

Besides it's off paper. ???

Great gun, great price. If you don't want a heavy overbuilt .357 then tell your friend about THR. I love to shoot my friends if he offered it to me for that price it would be mine.

Good man.

Now remember that feeling when you know you're getting not just a good, but the right deal, and you'll never get taken again. Congratulations. Bang bang.

Buy it, but at a more fair price.

I feel $300 is taking advantage of a friend during his time of need...friends should be doing the exact opposite of that.

yeah, i think a $357 paycheck is definitely an omen there :D nice purchase. i have to agree with some of the above though, if it was a friend in need, i'd have paid more, because $300 for a good condition GP100 is pretty much theft.

I agree. I'd probably tell him I'll sell it back to you within a year at $300

That is my general rule with friends and family too. It is a "secured loan" for 365 days. I have bought plenty of stuff this way. A sale is a sale when your friend wants to sell to finance another purchace, but "I am broke and need money for rent" is a little different.

Enjoy!

Well, he was telling me about how he wanted to buy a S&W 357 or .44 sometime down the road, but if he wants it back Ill sell it back to him. Reluctantly, because this big hunk of iron just feels right!
