Posted to my blog, I'll share it here Scary part is all my friends voting for Kerry gave it a big thumbs up for me 'thinking out of the box' and all my friends voting Bush were snickering.

Hopefully it is evident I am dripping from sarcasm like my Beretta drips Gun Scrubber after an IPSC match.
Edited again for speeling :banghead:
So this may come as a surprise to you, but I voted for John Kerry. I was raised a Republican, but watching the news and taking liberal arts classes forced me to reevaluate my positions that my parents forced upon me. Here are some, but not all, of the key issues.
TAXATION
Having people pay more taxes actually puts money IN their hands. I am opposed to Bush's tax cuts, because the rich get more money back than I do. Even though they pay more taxes than I do, this is unfair.
SOCIAL SECURITY
I am in favor of a government-mandated retirement plan. Giving the government an interest-free loan so I might see it later makes much more sense than letting people hold onto and investing it.
HEALTH CARE
Things are better when the government is in charge. I want a visit to the dentist to be like a visit to the DMV.
RACE RELATIONS
While Affirmative Action hasn't been an issue (because of the right-wing controlled media), we all know where the Democrat and Republican parties stand on this one. The Republican party tries to ignore race, while the Democrats have been taking the initiative towards equality.
While I wasn't for it in high school because it made it harder for me to get into college, it doesn't affect me anymore. I am for Affirmative Action because regardless of socioeconomic status, people need to be treated differently because of their race.
The Republican party has always been the party of White people. Just look at the celebrity endorsements. There is a reason why rednecks like Travis Tritt support George Bush and open-minded, cultured and educated people like Ben Affleck and Michael Moore don't.
GUN CONTROL
While the 1st and 3rd through 10th Amendment of the Bill of Rights (written in the late 1700s), recognizes individual rights and limits government powers, the 2nd Amendment is CLEARLY written to form a government funded and controlled army, the National Guard (formed in the early 1900s). It has nothing to do with individual rights. Just read the Constitution.
It's about duck hunting, plain and simple; I shoot for sport and so does John Kerry, but I'll turn my guns in if I have to. We stopped alcoholism in the 1930s and drug abuse since the 1980s. If we ban guns, we can stop murder.
THE WAR IN IRAQ and THE WAR ON TERROR
While I was for the war when it started, I am against it now. Bush intentionally misled us into Iraq to finish the job his daddy couldn't do. THERE ARE NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN IRAQ, AND SADDAM HUSSEIN HAS NO LINK TO TERRORISM. It's about time we fess up and admit that we made a mistake.
“[Terrorist] entities survive with country support, the support of the country of Syria, or country of Libya, or country of Iran, Iraq and so forth.â€
--Sen. Kerry, 1 Aug 1996.
"Saddam Hussein has already used these weapons [of mass death] and has made it clear that he has the intent to continue to try, by virtue of his duplicity and secrecy, to continue to do so. That is a threat to the stability of the Middle East. It is a threat with respect to the potential of terrorist activities on a global basis.â€
--Sen. Kerry, 23 Feb 1998.
“I think we clearly have to keep the pressure on terrorism globally. This doesn’t end with Afghanistan by any imagination. Terrorism is a global menace. It’s a scourge. And it is absolutely vital that we continue, for instance, Saddam Hussein.â€
--Sen. Kerry, 14 Dec 2001.
