I know my posts are few but I generally respect the facts/opinions found here.
I bought a Magnum Research .45 (I.W.I. or I.M.I. 941) steel frame, semi compact 10 + 1.
This was originally bought in March 2014 and I now have the third one. Each failed in spectacular fashion. The first after a cosmetic repair would FTE and feed another in. It went back to Magnum 3 times before they replaced it. The second seemed ok but Magnum called it back because the name was spelled wrong by I.W.I.. The third and Last after 350 rounds the decocker broke and the right side fell off.
Is it just me or has I.W.I./ Magnum Research lost the ability to preform? Has anyone else had a problem like this or is this unique to me?

One Approach

I wanted to make it clear that the whole side of the pistol did not fall off, just the de cocker.

Either way i found a good solution to my problem. I cut my losses and sold the defective pistol and bought a Sig P220 to replace it. Magnum made it clear to me that they did not wish to do any further business with me nor did they wish to make the problem right. After all, 3 trips back plus the latest issue is enough.

I wanted to make sure that future buyers of the pistol at least knew there was a potential for poor service from this company and this pistol. It is a shame that a pistol with the reputation for reliability would fail so many times.
