Cool. I've always wondered why many manufacturers are in states hostile to guns (like IL and NY).. they need to MOVE OUT.

Les Baer already told IL to go (insert word of choice) themselves and moved across the river to IA.

That's right next door to my state. Sweet! There's no way a *** like Gov. Gregoire would even consider something like that here (WA), but Idaho is close enough for now.

One more thing to love about the Gem State.

    They said,
Which one is that? and where is ID in it?

Sounds like great news, my mother in law lives out there and if they keep up this type of thing I may have to head out that way more often.

Idaho would be a great place to build firearms.

Freedom Arms is on the east border of Idaho in Wyoming so there must be some good gunsmiths in that area.

I would love to hear news of manufacturers giving the finger to anti- states and actually moving.

What happened to potatos? :neener:. Naw, actually I think it is fantastic, and with the proper motivation, I would move to Sandpoint in a heartbeat. No living for a mid level shrink with a shooting habit there. :banghead:

Does that mean if there was a design defect, the state can't sue?

ehhh, i've always rejected the term "sportsman industry" when re: firearms...

i personally feel it should be called the national defense industry :D

    other than that GO IDAHO!

    Good for Idaho...

Coincidentaly I heard on the radio this morning that OK is one of 5 states trying to get one of the major gun manufacturers who is planning a move to come here. Who the manufacturer is seems to be a secret at this time.

Murray State College has one of the best gunsmithing programs in the country and OK is hyping that big time.

I wonder if Idaho is courting the same manufacturer as OK?

Good luck to you guys up there but in all honesty - I hope we get 'em.

Your thread title corn-fused me, I thought "Gunning" meant that they were filing a lawsuit against the gun manufacturers, and I thought "Whaaaat? Idaho? Really?" Makes sense now.

Just a minor correction. Milt Sparks Holsters is in Boise, and has been for more than 12 years or so. Sparks was in Idaho City for many years, but moved his operation to Boise. He's been dead for some time.

    Way to go Idaho!
Glad to hear that my old home state is courting the firearms industry. They also have a number of important knife manufacturers. (since knives are firearms accessories after all). Buck recently moved their opperations to Post Falls a couple years ago. Chris Reeve has been making knives in the Boise area for years.
