Is this a product anyone would choose to carry?

http://idealconceal.com/

Should fall under the same legalities of the pen guns you need to fold down to shoot, I would think. No mention of it being an AOW.

Personally, this is not a product I would spend money on, because I'm not their idea of "Most People."

Most conceal carry folks don’t carry regularly because of the potential embarrassment should a co-worker, client or member of the public see their gun.

Thoughts?

Looks to me like another gimmick.

I actually kind of like the idea.....looks like it would make a great back up.

Looks a little too slow to present to be a primary

A bug a best.

Kind of a tactics discussion. Who are you going to shoot with it? And why? There's a big difference between an active shooter, simple mugger, or experienced shooter that's gone off the deep end. Going to be way too undergunned for a some of those scenarios.

That's why I stopped carrying my micros and put more effort into concealment of a compact.

The idea is interesting but this looks like a cheep hunk of junk.

No thanks. I'd sooner just buy an LCP or Bodyguard.

Pretty much a new way of dressing up the old two shot Derringer. More of a BUG than anything you would need to get into action immediately.

Possibly a good "gun-when-you-can't-have-a-gun" gun. I'm surprised it's slated to be made made by an already-established maker (Charter Arms.)

It looks downright unpleasant to actually shoot, though.

There are enough wallet-type holsters out there that can conceal a Kel-Tec P32 or similar gun and look like a smartphone in the pocket already. Some allow firing of the gun without removing it from the holster.

Who remembers the "pager holsters" of the 1980s, that had little protrusions on the edges opposite each other? One was to cock the cylinder of a NAA micro-revolver encased inside, and the other fired it.

Seems like a suit gun, or something to stash in a desk drawer. If triple deep concealment were a concern I'd look into the seecamp, rohrbagh, lcp type guns and a good pocket holster

Whoever is making it must not of expected it to be shared like this. Too popular for it's own darn good.

Imagine a thick fake smartphone, complete with a fake camera lens and fake buttons, with a fold out sheet metal grip. And two .38 caliber muzzles.

Are there many states that restrict concealed carry but allow open carry? It might be a little less silly in those states.

Napolenn Solo...

... your Smart phone gun is ready. Please return the transistor radio gun at your earliest convenience.

Looks like a clever piece of kit for a smart phone holster or a wallet pocket.

Back against the wall... It might be handy.

Todd.

Aw what the heck, I'll throw the Bonhus CL380 in here for discussion too...

Mission Statement:

To radically shrink pistols without sacrificing grip control and ensure 100% safe conceal-carry regardless of clothing choice

BTW, those DoubleTap derringers can be had for $180 now for someone with a little patience who waits for a sale.

What a huge price drop for those things from when they first came out !

i think it's really neat. i wouldn't carry it though and i hate derringers

"Most conceal carry folks don’t carry regularly because of the potential embarrassment should a co-worker, client or member of the public see their gun."

I guess I'm not their target customer, as I never felt embarrassed by carrying. I can pocket carry my LG9S Pro or P938 just as discretely and have 7 to 8 rounds of 9mm available. That being said, while this may not be for me I'm all for innovation, as that's what leads to new and improved products.

They lost me with the false premise in their opening paragraph:

The best gun is always the one you have with you. Most conceal carry folks don’t carry regularly because of the potential embarrassment should a co-worker, client or member of the public see their gun.

Since my concealed or open carry is not embarrassing to me, I'll continue carrying a real gun in an effective caliber.
