If I ever have a daughter, god willing, I can only hope that she will be able to do this by the time she is 11.

http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1828310

P.S. After watching this, I tried to do it myself. My best time was just under a minute and a half. How often can you say you were shown up by an 11 year old girl with a gun...? How fast can you guys do this?

She probably shouldn't be walking in front of the gun like that at the end, but a nice demonstration.

I don't have an AR-15 (want one though) and watching videos of people who do isn't helping.

It's pretty obvious the firearm was unloaded at the time. I'm sure Daddy was well aware of that fact.

Not a jab, just an observation.

Do people really have a problem with walking in front of the muzzle of a gun laying inert on a table?

It isn't like the firearm is magically going to fire. Someone/something has to activate the trigger.

Maybe I'm just super cavalier and foolhardy, but I'd personally have no problem walking by it and don't see the danger for anyone else doing it either.

In fact, I've been doing such reckless things my entire life. I'll even set my FULLY loaded handgun down on my desk and walk past the muzzle as I go about my business in my den.

Walking the razor's edge there, I am. A regularly first rate daredevil.

Add me to that list. I would be bringing all my buddies over to watch to.

Rebel Red come ON. Are you serious? We can't walk in front of guns sitting on a table now?

This vid is two years old (added to youtube January 12, 2008) but definitely worth a re-view. I actually saved it from youtube about a year ago in case dumbtube deleted it (for promoting violence :banghead: or some similarly idiotic excuse that they use to delete videos).

I don't think any kid or most adults will ever beat what she does in that video. The guys who can't figure out why women who want to shoot, outshoot us, and why girls who want to do something like this for their dad are able to do amazing things, this is a good lesson on the differences between men and women. When a female is focused, they become like a machine. Anyone who has not witnessed it can either watch this video or take a motivated female to the range and watch her follow the rules and out shoot us by a mile. Females have an incredible ability to focus, practice, and execute things when they are motivated. In many cases we cannot reproduce this effect.

Ill agree with that I have no problem walking in front of a loaded, untouched gun. Its when people start touching it that I dont want to be anywhere near the barrell. I think for the general population to become more comfortable with guns, they have to be confident it wont just fire on its own, loaded or not. Current firearms manufacturers do a more than adequate job of insuring that, IMO.

Sweet! I got 4 daughters. I have been playing with when to start my oldest on the range. She is bright, is smart enough to take guns very seriously and not mess around with them. Just a PITA to go to the range near us. I would kill to have some property to take her to so something less formal.

Wow, man. Congrats! I have 2, myself.

Lol, I guess we both live in a pink world of fluffies and baby dolls. Wife, 2 girls and a female cat...I swim daily in estrogen. :)

But the pink guns always catch an eye...and this is promising.

If they do they should:

1. Never ride an escalator when carrying. Your loaded gun is then pointing at someone behind you.

2. Never bend over while carrying a gun for the same reasons.

3. If you go somewhere like the ordnance museum at Aberdeen Proving Ground you can only look at the back row of tanks and artillery from the back. Otherwise all the guns will be pointed at you. Same goes for any firearms museum.

et cetera, et cetera

Walkng backwards while shooting is not the best of ideas.

Function was incomplete, btw. Still a good time. I might could do it in close to that time, but I also have over 20yrs experience with the platform.

My comment wasn't about you or I walking in front of the gun, unloaded, lying on a table. It was about a younger person doing it. Got to teach them weapon respect and safety.

And yeah, for all we know, she knows all this and the point is moot. Just making the comment. Younger minds need more reenforcement.

This video is often touted as setting the new world's record time, but she's nowhere near that. I know it is down around 30 seconds, but does anyone know exactly?

I'd probably need a couple practice laps to do it that quickly! I think the key would be getting the CH back into the upper smoothly on the first try. It usually takes me a few reps pushing it back and forth to get it seated.

I also don't take the buffer out for a regular cleaning, but... pretty cool.

If women were inherently better, all the competetive shooting champs would be women. Shooting is not a sex-specific pursuit, in my opinion, with the possible exception of heavy recoiling rifles where pure physical ability might play more of a factor... Some of the practical pistol champs aren't even in shape. I don't see why they even have separate female divisions in most shooting sports.
