I would like to know what holster some of the 1911 guys are using to conceal carry a gov't model 1911. Seems like a lot of gun, but I hear about people using 'em for their carry weapon, just trying to get some idea of you guys are doing it "Somewhat comfortably":D

Very comfortably with either an OWB Counter Attack or IWB BraveHeart, both by KyTac (www.kytac.com)

I carry IWB with a Galco Summer Comfort. Its comfortable enough even with my terrible walmart belt. Can't wait to get a real gunbelt.

It conceals pretty good, though the gun rides slightly high, allowing for a more solid grip for the draw. You might be able to hide a 1911 better with a different holster, but this one makes the draw butter smooth, and it doesn't fold in on its self without the gun in it.

I started with an original Milt Sparks Summer Special (IWB) and currently use a polymer version of a Yaqui slide (OWB).

My favorite is some version of the Bruce Nelson/Milt Sparks BN55 (OWB)...which just about every holster manufacturer makes

    I carry a Sig GSX1911, 4", in a Crossbreed Supertuck comfortably...so a 5" would just stick out the bottom a little more.

I carry mine in either a Galco Kingtuck or Galco "Cop" series I believe it's called.

Galco HWK212 for IWB CC, Galco FL212 for OWB OC.

I obtained a FIST #12 style in Kydex for OWB CC when I was on a Kydex kick but fell out of love with all my Kydex holsters because they scuff my expensive gun belts. Otherwise it is excellent. A FIST #12 in leather would be a good choice.

    Milt Sparks VersaMax II.

Not "somewhat comfortably," completely comfortably -- except perhaps in some bucket seats, but really, for all-day wear it can't be beat.

I've used a couple different companies. Some i still use, others, not so much. For OWB, i recommend the Bladetech Eclipse model. Very comfortable and very easy to come by. If you don't mind waiting a couple weeks/months, check out Raven Concealment Holsters. For IWB, Milt Sparks is a very good one. Comptac isn't too bad either.

I use this, which was made by member Joel here. It is somewhat similar to a VersaMax, but with deep cuts to make it tuckable.

I use that or a DeSantis Speed Scabbard pancake OWB ... when the holiday goodies have made my gun swell up so much it doesn't fit IWB anymore.

Why yes indeed he is! He's a shooting pal of mine and BullfrogKen's who has devoted much of the last 3-4 years to becoming a fantastic up-and-coming holster maker.

Hold on, I'll find some pics and a link for you...

I use a Crossbreed Supertuck, a Galco Miami Classic, A Serpa, and a fanny pack, depending on the outfit and the weather. With the Supertuck, I can wear it with denim shorts and a T-shirt, 100+ degree weather, no problem.
