I carry legaly now, if it ever becomes "illegal" I will still carry. Give me Liberty or give me death. And I will defend my liberty against all those who would abridge my Birth right with deadly force. No Man or Government will overthrow my birth right and live.

I can not carry legally at work and in many governmental bldg. I carry when ever I can, which is less than half of the time that I am away from home. Always carry about the house.
From Florida.

For me it's almost always, except that I spend a lot of time on military posts, that's the only time I don't. Ironic, I know.

I thought about that at the time of the Fort Dix terrorist business. I spent about 6 months at Dix once upon a time, and I would say that, excluding the ranges, the percentage of personnel with gun and ammo was probably less than your average suburban shopping mall. Military folks being pretty law-abiding, there really aren't many MPs, except at the gates. It was a pretty big deal when we found a .50 cal cartridge in a heating duct while cleaning a barracks.

Everywhere but church, when I am in a state that i can. CA is less than accommodating to my 2A rights. But when i drive home, i pull out my G19 the instant I cross into NV.

Sounds like we're all about the same -

No big surprise, this isn't a sewing circle forum. I wish I could carry all the time, but my work (construction) makes it not feasible with all the bending and stooping and such. I feel, as was already posted, 'naked' without it (S&W M&P .40), like I forgot my phone or wallet. And I do like the idea of that belly band holster, though. I've had to drop trou AND my rig which is a problem. As far as swimming with one, maybe someone will come up with a 'prosthetic device' you can use (water wings, anyone?)

I carry where I am not legally prohibited.
I avoid businesses with a 'disarmed customers' sign more out of principal than desire to follow their rules.

Me, Too, Deepintheheart!

Who started this thread and said:
I work for an employer (IBM) who makes it a condition of employment that I NOT bring a gun to work. They also post a sign on the doors, but it does not conform to Texas state law. (Wonder how they missed that.) Despite the non-conforming sign, if I were found to be carrying at work I'd be fired. (I can keep a gun in my car while at work, since its in the parking lot.)

Yep, same here, even same :fire:employer. :scrutiny: And I'm not gonna state what you might find in MY truck!

I voted with "carry, but seldom" for that reason. I live in a fairly "safe" area, and what might be in my theoretical truck is with me any time I go someplace that's not posted. The sad thing is that in the leftist land of Minnesoviet, there are a LOT of places posted.:cuss:

the only places I choose not to carry (vs. am barred from carrying) are Dr/hospital/PT trips where I'm probably going to 'drop trou' or get weighed (it gets secured in a tethered lock box in the car) ...

Nick

I carry everywhere I go, with the only exception being the places I'm excluded from. Since I was just laid off a week and a half ago, now it's on me 24/7. My previous employer didn't allow "dangerous weapons" of any type, so it was left in my truck while working.

First Off let me say my heart goes out to our brothers & sisters in Jones, Co. Texas! God Bless ya'll & we hope the fires have ended! I hope you have much love & support through the clean-up / rebuilding process. I totally empathize being a native of Kaliforniastan.

Next up....CCW while swimming? Well...my friends say my aim is like I'm shooting out of my butt sooo.....I carry lots of mags so I might hit something:evil:

Uh...what is the Castle Doctrine and does it apply in PA? The reason I ask is - the paper my Sheriff's office enclosed with my permit says "Do not leave your firearm unattended in a motor vehilce. You must carry the firearm CONCEALED on your person." I asked for clarification and they advised "the firearm must be very concealed - totally invisible." I wonder what happened to our open carry law?:scrutiny:

I agree with the belly band carry technique - although the IDPA doesn't shoot that way, I still like it best (especially in reference to the bahroom issue and during warm weather). I'm kinda skinny so 5 or 6 o'clock doesn't work well because I look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame when I bend forward:eek:

Back to the poll.....Yes 100 % when legal and.....gulp....sometimes when not if I feel the sitch' warrants it (sorry - watched too much Miami Vice growing up). I too have federal law signs prohibiting me from carrying while in the office or out delivering the mail (I deliver in several projects and shots fired near me about 3 times a week.....by the grace of God, I've never been hit, sometimes by inches. Hey - they don't want to hurt me. I bring the checks!)

Beretta PX4, 40S&W 14+1 and an extended 17 in an Uncle Mikes Sidekick OWB during winter or under up high during summer and a North American Arms .380 10+1 in an Uncle Mikes wallet holster in my strongside front pocket AT ALL TIMES (except at work:banghead:) and my CX4 40 S&W carbine or or Mossberg 500 Rolling Thunder 12GA in the "truck" (unloaded in PA - of course) for back-up.

Oh yeah...if I'm on the road for any distance I like to have my Ruger 10/22 Charger with a BSA red dot / laser and a TacticalInc 25 round mag on front seat next to me;)

Just livin' the dream

I carry as much as I can, but unfortunately I spend a lot of time on college campuses in Michigan, some of which are able to ban legal CCW.

The only 3 places I don't carry:

1. My son's school
2. Government buildings
3. Work

The only one that isn't a legal issue is work, but it isn't a fight that I'm willing to sacrifice my family's well being for, since they will fire anybody with a knife blade over 3" no matter how stupid the policy. That said, I have gun double locked inside my car in the parking lot every day, and in the few cases it has come into discussion, I have had no fear of saying it's there. Kentucky law makes it clear that my locked vehicle is my property no matter where it is parked, and they have no basis for telling me it can't be there.

Do I carry? You betcha!

Like the credit card people say, "I never leave home without it!" The only time it is not on my belt is when I'm in bed or in the post office.
