If you could "ban: one topic from THR...
Lots that ask that are new one on here. A lots that jest getting in to guns. So let then ask away I will help them out if I can. I bet you ask to find out about guns and diff thing about guns. I fought we had free speech in the USA but some on here has said we do not!Reposts. Especially reposts of questions that have already been answered numerous times and could be re-answered with a simple Google search.
Thank you, my sentiment exactly. There are hundreds of threads and thousands of posts on THR every day. Most folks only read a few. What ever tickles your fancy is fine with me. If I don't like the topic, I don't have to open the thread.I'm not in favor of banning anything. I want this forum to be open to any gun related topic.
If some on this forum don't want to read it, they should just move on to the next topic.
That is about all there is. I would never go into someone's home and say they have too many books. Most of them will be of no interest to me, but all will be of some use to someone.larryh1108- I think you got it right. Thanks
simple: The most useless phrase is "use the search function".
*first, the search function sucks. If you wish to know if the xd9 has had a history of ftfs, you search xd9 ftf. You get any thread with an xd9 in it and you get every thread containing ftf. Literally thousands of threads to go thru.
*second, we have a ton of new people. They want to interact with the experienced pros. This is not a read only forum. They wish to feel a part of the discussion and actually contribute to it.
*third, products are fixed by the mfg (recalls) and the issue of a year ago may not be relevent today. This is quite common on new pistols.
*fourth, ammo is constantly upgraded, reconfigured, etc. There is new ammo out and what was "the best for...?" 2 years ago may not be true today.
*last, when someone tells someone to just use the search function because it's been discussed before it means he is bored with the topic so he felt the need to be rude and inconsiderate. Hey, if it bores you, move on. Don't feel you have to mark your territory like an animal. Treating newbies with disdain does not help the forum grow as a community and keeps fresh ideas and people new to the gun world away.
Anything containing the word 'socialist' as an epithet, particularly when it is clear that the poster has absolutely no idea what socialism is.
"This stupid gun is jamming, a gun that costs XXX should shoot anything I put in it! It should, I put a twinkie in mine and it shot it fine. If I had known that twinkies would be so valuable I would have not done so. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
People like to shout out into the empty night sky and listen for a response.
People like to talk about the same old thing, over and over.
People like to ask without searching.
Maybe it is a sad statement, but people like to talk to other people, even in such a limited fashion as a forum.
So, keep them posts a flying.
What gun should I get my girlfriend? Well, I think you really wanted us to know you have a girlfriend and that she likes guns.
What pistol should I get, money is no object? Okay, you have plenty of money.
Should I get a .45 or a 9mm? Neither. You should get a .22LR and after that you will know something.
There is a scratch on my new pistol, should I send it back? After showing photos and zooming in on it you can still barely notice it. Yes, send it back so that it will get more scratches on it during shipping.
This stupid gun is jamming, a gun that costs XXX should shoot anything I put in it! It should, I put a twinkie in mine and it shot it fine. If I had known that twinkies would be so valuable I would have not done so.
My gun shoots 6" groups at 100 yards! Piece of junk! Its not me either, I can shoot 1" groups with my XYZ gun. My friend shot it and it was fine.... ooooo....
Its all fun, and if you read all of this, just shows that we like to do this stuff we do on forums.
