If you could only buy 1 "higher end" pistol, which would it be?

    Requirements are:
    -Must be 9mm
-Not a micro pistol, but can be SC
-No more than $3,000 so everyone doesn't say Alien or Nighthawk =p
-Will likely not go down in value
    -No revolvers

a Nice Luger P08 (preferably 6" barrel) or Mauser C96 (Broomhandle).

That being said if you handed me $3,000 I am putting it towards a new Automag 44AMP

I just bought my wish-list 9mm higher end pistol, spurred on by Washington state enacting their magazine restriction. CZ Shadow 2 Blue.

Well, it wouldn't be a 9mm, unless you know someone who has an Erfurt Naval Luger for under $3000. And it wouldn't be to shoot it.
Maybe a P210 or Shadow 2 Orange, those I'd shoot.
An Inglis or Waffenampt P-35 might suffice.

A Sig P210A Standard was only about $1400 and if Bruce Gray would cooperate with the mag well funnel and magazine extension from the Bruiser project, it would suit me pretty well.

A $1500 SA Prodigy DS with $1500 in reliability upgrades and Checkmate magazines.

I've been keeping my eye out for a Dan Wesson Guardian.
They made them in 9mm, I wouldn't buy one in 9mm, or 38 Super, but they made them.

That's a chuckle. I couldn't afford even one never mind more. But if I suddenly discovered an old sock full of hundred dollar bills I still couldn't play. I wouldn't want a high end 9. Why does it have to be 9? Lots of 45 folks around.

SIG P49; not the commercial P210 but the military P49.

You have to specify a minimum cost to the gun as well for these threads, or you’ll eventually end up with a bunch of tedious, tiresome budget-gun-plus-ammo/holster recommendations.

In this situation, I’d probably lean toward a S&W 952 (a 5” variant, as the different 6” versions go for a good deal more than $3,000 these days).

I tend to not buy $3K guns instead preferring to buy sub $1500 guns that turn into $3K guns (ie P7). With that in mind these days a WWII Hi Power or P38 would be fun to own and shoot. As to current production stuff I would bet on the SP5 not dropping in value and going up like crazy if they stop making them.

Probably my Staccato P. It's as good of a range gun as it is a home defense/duty pistol. But, not go down in value...hmm. My old HK P7 PSP, it's my favorite gun and I paid $450 for it years ago.

Me too I just get sidetracked every time I start looking at them. Interesting pistols that just get ignored. There are even some 357sig steyrs out there. I still want a Grand Power 10mm as well but Im not sure if they ever got the kinks worked out of them for full power loads.

Out of production: H&K P7, I actually prefer the older PSP as opposed to the M8...the Jubilee model would be the exception

In Production: SIG 210 or a Staccato P
