Also one group is facing out, engaged with the world around them. The other is facing inward.

Tout those pictures all you want. Won't make any difference to the Chicago politicians whose voters are fed off the public trough.

I noticed that the thread is misrepresentative of what is going on in the pictures at least by omission of salient details.

    The Chicago protest is a...

So this is a group there to address one AG about one thing, nothing more.

The Springfield protest is an annual rally, not a one time event. In 2011, the focus of the protest was to keep FOID information private.

Here are some much more impressive images from the 2013 efforts which did focus on CCW.

Note that the big differences are the IGOLD holds its lobby day every year and protests for all sorts of rights issues. Simply put, you would not expect hundreds of people to show up to speak with on AG and one particular facet of ccw, but you would expect hundreds or even thousands to show up to address the entirely of the state government.

Its good to see such organized efforts.

The anti group is speaking with the AG directly. They got a group-on-1 face to face meeting. I highly doubt the outward facing pro-guns all got meetings with their reps anymore than the MMM did in DC years ago.

Each type of protest has different goal orientation. Each apparently accomplished the viewership goals intended. The larger group had high public visibility. The smaller group received private face to face talks with the specific person they wanted to address. That one was larger and one smaller does not indicate anything specific by self.

I know you were trying to make a point more people in Illinois are interested in pro-ccw than not as evidenced by the size of the rallies, but you left out salient information. When you look at the rallies for what they really are, the size comparison really isn't relevant. In short, you set up a false dichotomy.
