I'm guessing some of the 57 "yes" votes would not be "yes" votes for a final bill. There are plenty of Democrats who probably voted "Yes" today for political reasons when they know the votes are meaningless, but will not vote for an assault weapons ban when the final vote actually counts.They have 57 votes on the Yes side, if you tally up the No, No Vote, and Present we've got 59 on our side.
