I just thought I'd post my few pages of illustrated instructions for everyone....

The above page has links at the top for illustrated instructions for:
    MKII parts diagram
field stripping (and a Problems/Cause/Solution section for field stripping)
    extractor removal/replacement
Removing internal pieces, such as the trigger, hammer, sear, and disconnector

let me know if I left anything out, or have any typos...

Never having seen it shown before, now I know why people say it is difficult! Good job explaining and demonstrating how it is to be done.

John, don't lose sight of the fact that those instructions are for complete disassembly not field stripping for cleaning.

    Best Mark2 Latch tool

The absolute best completely non-marring tool I've found for opening the mainspring latch on my Mark2 is a plastic cable tie in a loop. You can "customize" the size of the loop to your liking. Hold it by the fastener end and slip the loop under the latch and pull.

Great value also, you can buy 10 of them for about a buck.
