Hi all,

Sorry for the short notice, but I am heading out to Burro Canyon tomorrow to have fun with my milsurps. I plan on shooting my 91/30, M44, M38, SKS and maybe my K31. If anyone wants to meet up, give me a shout.

And if anyone is looking for an excuse to take off, I would be willing to share.

I'll be there. I'm the guy with the sig cap and a bunch of shoulder-breaking milsurps in tow. none of which i can hit crap with at the moment, which is why i'll be there early and come home late...

what time will you two be there?

everytime i go i always look around and think, i wonder how many of these guys i've already talked to?
 
I always show up at Angeles before they open and set up at the far end of the rifle range. You can't miss us, just look for all the big guns. See you Sunday if you can make it out.

hey... where did everyone go?

I was at burro at noon and nobody was there =(

i guess either you all had gone home already or you all forgot it was father's day.

next weekend, anyone? i'll probably be there sunday.

I can't believe that I missed you. I showed up at about 12:30 and stayed until 3:00. I was the one driving the black Intrepid and I was at the end of the line, using the 4x4 log to hold up the target. The only other milsurps I saw were being shot by a couple of guys in the middle of the line.

Funny story: I was taking a break and I was listening to something loud being shot and I was wondering what kind of cannon was being used. Turns out it was those guys shooting thier M44. It sounded totally different than when I was shooting mine, but now I understand why the kid next to me had to ask what I was shooting. It was cool watching their muzzleflash in the daylight.

I gave those guys a few rounds of my 7.62x54R training ammo to try out and I also let them sample my K31. Everytime I shot my K31, I thought..there goes 60¢, there goes 60¢, there goes 60¢....

I just realized something

the OP said "16 June" - that's Friday!

Then 50 shooter said "sunday before opening"

so apparently we all went on different dates and times?! lol*

however, i think i've met you before already el barto - you're the guy with the k31 that has the mojo sight thingie on it, right? i think you might have let me shoot your k31 once before (i did abysmally - although in my defense i was shooting standing and offhand)

well, i'm definitely going to be there sunday (my MN sniper should have arrived by then) and i sure would like to shoot the breeze with some of you guys. we could even bring our own food and make it a little picnic party. at least, i think they will allow us to bring our own food.

ps: i'm a member and i can reserve a private range for us if we have at least two or three other paying shooters.

** oh, and that's SUNDAY JUNE 25TH @ ~11-12 Noon. Bring yer milsurps!
 
Hey Silver,

Thats funny! I was beginning to think that folks were avoiding me.

I'm afraid that I wasn't the one you met before. I just took out my girls for the first time last Friday and all of them have the iron sights; I haven't figured out what else I want to put on them.

Friday wasn't a great day to shoot because the wind was gusting. Everyone had trouble keeping their targets from falling over and after awhile I gave up and just popped off the ammo I brought.

I won't be able to go this weekend; I have a kids function to attend. I'll have to make it another time. The next time I go, I will bring along a new shooter. He is my wife's 14 yr old cousin.
