A week ago I bought my first airgun since the 60's. Wasn't sure what to get or how much to spend, know nothing of modern guns so thought id start off small and not spend more that £3/400. I wasn't expecting much at that level and bought what I thought was a cheap Spanish rifle. A Gamo Coyote in 177 12ftlbs ( uk market)... well I was well surprized, with no wind and using a sandbag it constantly shot hole in hole at 35yds.. about 40 shots/refill and killing rabbits at 30 yrds no prob.
Ive since found out these rifles are built with BSA barrels and parts but badged as Gamo... All I can say is that a 10shot PCP rifle with filling tank and all the gear you need under £500 (£483 ) and shoots as well as the Gamo cant be bad. I cant help wonder what the 25ftlb models are like.
This thing came in at near half the price of the big name guns and shoots just as well, makes me wonder just how much we pay for a name.

A fair amount sometimes, others not a whole lot. Your actually jumping back into air guns and pcps at a good time. The general cost has come down significantly in the last 5 years or so.
Back when i bought mine they both cost well over 500 bucks, and getting fills was so difficult i almost bought a 3k dollar compressor (i was also playing paintball every weekend and teching paintball guns on the side).
Now the same performance can be had for about 150-300 dollars. Air fills are still just as annoying tho, so i havent gotten back into it.

Just for a price comparison for branded and not, beeman branded QB78s are selling for about 20% more than the unbranded originals.
