I currently have a Beretta CX4 Storm with the USA 16.5” barrel.

The Canadian version of the CX4 storm has the 19” Barrel as the shorter one is illegal in Canada.

I am planning a trip next summer to drive through Canada to Alaska and back.

Problem is Canada will NOT allow the American version in because the the shorter barrel. They will also not allow me to bring it in without the barrel either. With the thought of buying the 19” barrel in Canada.

I have found a dealer in Canada who will sell me the 19” Barrel. Baretta will not import the 19” Barrel into the USA to be sold by FFL’s here in the USA.

The Canadian dealer said Canada will allow them to export the barrel to the USA, but i am unable to find out what it will cost in taxes and import fees or the legal process to do so. Does it need to go to an FFL here in the states or can it be shipped direct to me? I bought a Mossberg barrel atraight from Mossberg and it was shipped direct to me. Then again Mossberg is in Texas and so am I.

So whats the process for importing a Barrel into the USA?

Lots of fun reading material in the link--I suspect that your answer is in here somewhere. Or at least it should tell you where you can find your answer.

I didn't read through all of it, but it does look like barrels fall into a restricted category along with "frames, receivers, or barreled actions" which means it won't be as simple as ordering it and having them ship it to you in the U.S. from outside of the country if you want to stay legal.
