Well, as the title says, I'm in the market for a good benchrest to help me sight in my rifles. I mostly just need something that will hold the rifle steady while I adjust the scope. The problem is that I have some oddball rifles like a PSL that don't readily fit cheap models, so I need something that's adjustable and can hold it.

Fair enough. Oh well, I guess it's buy once, cry once. It'll save me a ton of money on ammo, at least, if I don't have to waste nearly as many shots messing with it. It wasn't so bad when I was just dealing with .223, 7.62x39, and 7.62x54R, but now that I'm dealing with 8mm Mauser and .308 it gets expensive very fast.

There are other less expensive rest out there I only gave a few examples. Based on what I have seen you get what you pay for in these animals. Outers and Allen Company make some that cost less. I have an old Outers, not even sure where it came from.

I've used Caldwell in the past and is what I currently use. No complaints.

You can spend as much or as little as you want for a rest. The little orange Outter's has served its purpose for me, until I started shooting BR. My new rest cost as much as a good rifle. Look at a few catalogs, like Sinclair or Midway and then decide. Lightman
