I've got a new 1911 that I'd like to develop a target load for for bullseye shooting. I rarely shoot rested, as I've found I tend to shoot worse that way. I'm thinking some sort of purpose-built rest might solve this problem and aid in my load development. Do any of you have any recommendations? I don't have a budget in mind yet, so any suggestion will be helpful. It would also be used to work up loads for a .44 revolver.

ETA: Tips on technique for rested handgun shooting would be helpful, too. I could just be doing something wrong.
