Anyone know of an inexpensive over the counter scout scope mount for a 10/22 carbine? I have a chance to pick up a Burris scout scope at a really good price and would like to use it on my 10/22, but I don't want to spend a fortune or send the rifle out someplace to have a mount installed as I just can't see putting that much money into a $150 plinker.

Anyadvice or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Last I knew a Chief AJ scout conversion was $100 on a 10/22.
Do a google for Chief AJ.
Let us know what you do and the results.

Thanks. I am aware of the Chief AJ conversion but was hoping there was an over the counter mounting solution. I hate the idea of sending a $150 rifle out for $100 in work to mount a scope.

Not sure who, but I think it is Weaver that makes a generic 10 or12 inch long scope base designed to cut off at what ever length you chose. I mounted mine full length, the holes matching the 10-22 pre tapped holes perfectly. Then to support the part of the rail suspended above the barrel, I ran a set screw down until it just touched the barrel, securing it with loc-tite.

I'm looking for a SCOUT scope mount that mounts an intermediate eye relief scope over the barrel with the eyepiece about even with the front of the receiver. Kinda like this:

Also, I was given the gun as a gift and have neither the box nor any scope rail that might have been in it.

You might want to consider that anything contacting the barrel can potentially degrade accuracy.

If you can get the mount knzn mentioned, that would probably work quite well.
