Info Q: Springfield XDM40 mags fit XD40?

I'm guessing this is a no, but what's the harm in asking.

I know the M is 'match' and whatnot, but I'd get an XD40 if I knew it could take 16-rd mags!

Unfortunately, no. I think the external dimensions on the XDM magazines are just a little too big.

I think you may be able to find after market mags that have a higher capacity and will fit your XD, though.

It doesn't work with XD9/XDM9, I can tell you that for sure, because I tried at the shop when we were getting MrsBFD her XD9sc.
Now, the XD40sc should take standard XD40 mags, and there is a sleeve available to make the longer mag into more grip rather than just leaving it hanging out. I think XD__sc pistols come with that sleeved mag in the box along with the other goodies.
