So I was up at Dartmouth and I met a brazilian who wants go there for the MBA program and I chatted with him about brazil. I asked him about the "vote nao" campaign (which defeated the nationwide gun ban referendum). I asked him why it was successful, he said that the Brazilian equivalent to Time Magazine published a cover story called, 8 reasons why you should Vote No. He then explained their argument that if guns were banned only the law-abiding would obey the law, the criminals would still bring them in from paraguay. Isn't that interesting?

Apparently their equivalent of Time magazine has a more rational editorial staff than ours.

Have been to Brazil many times on business.....don't get your hopes up that it's a wonderful gun loving country. Socialist state that has plenty of gun and hunting restrictions. They love beauracracy and retape.....

I love Brazil and have a soft spot for Brazilians (after all, I married one), but the country is filled with sheep.

Brazilians have some of the most beautiful women in the world, and clearly fairer journalism than we do. I still remember the orgasmic self-flagellation Newsweek put up after each Columbine-like incident.
