Interesting scenario video with analysis

Never hurts to have a recognized gun guy learn something, but even better with an experienced prosecutor.

This was a GREAT video and one that all should watch.

And I actually did and will fake a heart attack.

Old guy falling down, not a big deal.

Train BEFORE and then learn to sell your act.

The video shows the value of good, well managed force-on-force training.

The better courses bring to bear after-action reviews using good video with audio, conducted by competent instructors.

The best would involve a defense attorney and former prosecutor, and no-shoot scenarios.

In scenario #1, if you were in Colion's position, when would you choose to engage?
Did the guy on the couch engage too soon and provoke a shootout that might have instead ended with the robber leaving with some cash and no shooting?
Colion waited for the robber to draw his handgun before he engaged. Was that too late to prevent the ensuing firefight?

The girl Colion was with left the scene. It was pointed out that Colion could have too.
In the 2011 IHOP shooting, a concealed carrier ducked out and left the scene. It worked for him.
This seems like an excellent strategy and probably the one I would choose, unless. Suppose my child was in the bathroom when the robbery began. I'm not leaving now.

Would you order the robber to stop like the guy on the couch? Hope he'd comply with commands to put his hands up, and against the wall and have him stand there until the police arrived?
What if he didn't comply?
Would you wait like Colion until guns are drawn?

Who knows?

I don't know that one.

Absolutely not!

NO! I would never try to detain anyone.

That sounds like a safe strategy since you would have no good options if they failed to comply.
So what would you do if leaving was not an option?
Hide under the table?
I get that you're probably not some kind of Tackleberry. At what prompt would you draw your firearm?
When the robber's gun is drawn like Colion?
When he's firing at the guy on the couch?
or only when he's muzzling or firing at you?
