Fair warning, he has allowed the full range of unfiltered language in the video, I agree with his reasons.

This is a "road rage" incident in Florida which I thought was both interesting and instructive. Several times I asked myself how dumb can people really be, already knowing the answer: You can't see the bottom of that particular hole.

the incident per se was discussed here recently, but the commentary is new.

Yeah the vid is at least a week or two old in the gun community, discussion wise.

Its a case of A-holes colliding for sure, and I don't know who was in the wrong initially, but as MANY have said, once the guy with a knife took a swipe IMHO thats grounds for ventilating, based on what we're presented with video wise.

That may or may not be true. Mutual combat situations are iffy when it comes to what's justified. You can;t invite someone to fight and then claim self defense.

It doesn't wprk that way. The legal defense of self defense depends on meeting all of several requirements, one of which was "who was in the wring initially".

Except Knife guy got arrested and gun guy didn't.

I'm going to repeat what I said last time, it took Gun Guy entirely too long to get his gun out of that concealed carry vest. I'd never use one of them.

Something to note here... having been on the scene of too many altercations where one guy was armed (or both guys) and the other was not... It's a tough call for the officer on scene no matter how you slice it... since you're operating on the info you have at that moment and rarely ever do you have the luxury of an independent witness willing to speak up and call balls and strikes...

So don't put that much stock on who got arrested in that particular moment since it's always a judgment call at best. On more than one occasion I ended up arresting both parties (or neither one...) if I couldn't be certain of the exact situation. In my era (1973 to 1995) you rarely had the luxury of someone's video of the action before you arrived on scene and usually, no matter how foolish they were before you came on scene -even idiots refrain from action once the cops are there (mostly -- there are exceptions in my experience...).

We love to monday morning quarterback - and yes, there are always lessons to be learned from past incidents - just don't put too much stock on "who got arrested" since many times, after the arrest other factors become known and change the appearance of things... At least that's my take on it (and as a supervisor - on several occasions, once I came on the scene someone got "un-arrested" once we had a bit more info...).

Based on what we could see from the video at least 2/3 of these people are too stupid to be allowed out in public. Vest guy might have been in the right initially but once he put on brass knuckles he elevated himself to bonehead status just like white shirt guy. And don't even get me started on the wife...
