Love the smaller gauges. Prefer the 28’s over a 410....reloading 28’s is much easier than 410’s. Shot tends to hang up more in the drop tube on the 410. You can’t go fast.
I'll agree that .410 requires a bit more work and care to reload than the larger gauges to a point. I modified an adjustable charge bar for my MEC 600jr that moved the charge cavities to the center of drop tubes. It made the reloading go more smoothly.
Also, it gave me more control and adjustability of the powder and shot charge to get the weights that I wanted.
Shooting .410 at skeet is always an exercise in futility for me. I had to practice with it at times because I shot all four gauges in tournaments.
