Just curious if .380ACP and .38spl are scarce lately as well.

The info I get is gonna influence a future purchase. I don't wanna buy a gun and not be able to run 2-300 rounds through it.

    Thanks!

.38 spcl will usually be on the shelves around here after .380 is gone.
.38 spcl is easier to reload for as well, imo.
.38 spcl has many more load combinations, from 125gr. to 170gr.

Plenty of .380 at the local Gander. Not much else, though.

380 and 38spl are the only thing on the shelves around me. Although I almost gaged when I looked at the price of .380.

At $26 per box of 50 ($18 for same ammo prior to the craziness), the 38spl on the shelf around here might as well not be.

I saw one box of .380 and one box of .45 Colt the last time I was at Walmart.

Scarce at some online stores and LGS's.

However, saw it at a LGS today, also; Natchez and Palmetto had them them this morning online.

My LGS has been running VERY low on ALL autoloading ammo.

I can find both at this time although price is up. You might also consider a 357so you can buy 38 Spl or 357 which might make it easier to get ammo.

I would have thought after BILL 'Monica Missiles' Clinton and Janet 'Babykiller' Reno people here would have put away a modest stock of ammo. Not saying 1000s of rounds but hey, I do have at least a couple hundred rounds for each type of round I use!

Not to long ago Wal-Mart had 400 round machinegun boxes full of 5.56 FMJ 55gr for decent prices. All you had to do was buy ONE.

And surely the more intrepid folks would have learned to reload their own ammo!

Anyway, once this scare is over, guys buy a modest amount of good ammo and pick it up just in case.

My local gun shop has most calibers on the shelf although not a lot at one time. The distributor is only supplying 1 case of each at a time.

    He has 25 Auto, 380 Auto, 9mm, 45 Auto but no 40 S&W.
    He has 38 S&W, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, 44 Special, 45 Colt but no 44 Magnum.
Actually, he has 5 different .38 Special/Special +P loads including the FBI Load.

BUT, powder and primers, not a chance!

Around here .38spl has been virtually nonexistent for years, at most I see 2-3 boxes on the shelf at a time. .380 was worse, until all the nonsense started. Now it seems like the only caliber you can always find a lot of.

I'm really leaning towards Ruger's LCR...

I really just gotta run down to my LGS's when I'm ready to buy something. The ammo stock keeps fluctuating.

Is it easier to carry a revolver or a small Semi Auto?

.32 acp is scarce as well...and that includes online sources. At Wal-Mart I saw three boxes of .380 on the shelf, a ton of 30-06 and .270 Win, and NOTHING else...must have just come in.

There's .380 available a lot of places online, you just have to look around. It's fairly reasonably priced too. Try the ammo search engines

Our local variety stores, BiMart, have plenty of .38 Rem/umc practice ammo. Some .45. Some .357. Fair selection of hunting rifle cals. All at regular prices.

Not much of anything else. 4 box limits.

No .22 but plenty of .17.... That's even on sale
