As mentioned the Mastershop pistols and X-Five P226s.
There are special runs from time to time that usually are not in the regular catalog such as the fairly recent runs of German P226s, some German P229s, and an extremely small lot of German P228s that Summit Gun Broker had.
Here is an example of a recent manufacture carbon steel slide German P226 that is NIB on GB. They usually are not that hard to find.

I own more than a few of German and Exter SIG pistols and find them all to be extremely high quality and for me have functioned perfectly.
Out of my SIGs I would say that my two Exter P229s may be the best built/fit of my lot but by a very very slim margin as they all are great.
There are tons of great used 1980s and 1990s German SIG pistols for sale if one looks around and is a bit patient if that is what one is looking for.
I picked up this P226 for $499 from my LGS a couple years ago and it came with original case, paperwork, and test target.
My Exter P226 with 18 round Mecgar magazine.
