This is a candidate for another group buy.

Sole authorship, hand forged, ~3.5-4" dif heat treat blade, pouch sheath.

Do you think we have enough interest to put together an order?

    Doc,

The price depends upon the number of folks that want to get in on it. I always ask the maker to come up with a basic design that will come in under $175. They submit an example based on 8-12 pieces being ordered and I pass things on to you guys. Sometimes the price is below $150 (sometimes $120), but the price depends upon how many of the "same" thing the maker can produce with a guarantee sale. Volume discount.

Aw, man! A Wheeler! Good stuff.

I really prefer micarta, though. And funds have been low...though I do have a double drill weekend coming up...:uhoh:

    sideshooter,

Don's already done a couple of group deals for the gang.

Anyway, why would I need to do a group buy on Don's knives since he's right here? :scrutiny:

Do you have a web site link to Wheeler knives. I keep thinking this Wheeler comes from GA, and looked at his knives at last year's Blade Show. Maybe some more information would be helpful before I decide.

    22-rimfire,

Gary Wheeler is a retired 5th Group 18B in Clarksville, TN.

If you were at Blade you may have looked at Gary's knives since he and Kim Breed and Mudbone and Perry Elder set up a table. The big stag bowie in damascus that Gary had at the table was the one he made for me.

I think he and Kim dropped their website.

I'll make anyone a Fighter for $225, the GB price. It'll be black or tan canvas micarta with a custom Kydex sheath. I gave too many options last year and am still paying for that.

hso, I'd buy one of these Wheeler knives if I could.

Beautiful traditional style work of art.

I am tempted, but I just confirmed an order with JK Handmade Knives this morning.

So I'll have to sit this one out.

Just thought this thread could use a bump. I'd still be in if this'd just happen...

Sure - right after I tracked down the Imperial auto I've been hunting for the past 3 years I see this.

    Dangit.

If we can get these under a buck and a half I'm in.

Sounds like enough people to ask Gary for a proto and price.
