Checking their site, they have great prices. Then I notice their site was last updated a year ago. Are these guys still in business?

I bought from mastrecastbullets.com (IL) this spring. Mike has responded to my e-mail in a day, and his quote matched prices listed on the web site. At that time bullets from the regular catalog were available in days - which I ordered and received. For bullets from a "limited production" catalog, per Mike words, you had to wait weeks.

Shoot an e-mail to the address at the web site, and check whether he is still answering.

XRF analysis on the bullets has shown that there is no tin in there. Only lead (94.6%) and antimony (5.4%). Bullets from other vendors, which I tested, had almost 2% of tin. This perfectly explains why his bullets are not expensive - tin is the most costly component in the alloy. Nevertheless, the bullets had perfect shape (low tin affects the shape first), BHN hardness that matched the declared one, surprisingly low variance in weight (standard deviation for the weight was .13 grains, while I have never seen anything below .25 grains before), and gave excellent accuracy.

I've bought from Mike a few times and I've found him to be a very nice person to deal with and very honest, however, he is a very unorganized person. Sometimes he misplaces snail mail and his email inbox is always loaded. I have found if you call him you will get fast service and no mistakes. I must say, his bullets are worth the wait if you experiance any wait time.

I have bought several times from Mike like has already been said he is slow to get around but he always delivers. He is super nice I have talked on the phone with him just shooting the breeze . his bullets are fine in fact I need to order some more 357 mags myself.

Mike called and left me some voicemail about a week ago . They are so back logged that they are not answering phones right now . Leave a message , send email or fax an order in . Yes their prices are great :D

Mike & his wife have been pretty heavily backlogged - I should know, 12k of that backlog was mine!<G> He warned me when I placed the order that there would be a delay, but that was fine - I was ordering replenishment stock, so I wasn't in a huge hurry - I usually order when my reloadin' drops my on-hand supply to 1k. I reload 3k at a time, so it's usually not that big a deal.

Still waiting on an order from over a year ago from Mike. I think he dropped me off his list because it was a large order (7k 9mm) and he couldn't give me a price. His guilt = my fault?

Oh well. I've ordered 3 time from Missouri Bullets in the last 3 months. EXCELLENT 3 day service each time!

I ordered and received almost 4K of 9mm/125 (3800 to be correct to fit to 70lbs box) less than a year ago, and Mike did not mention of any extra delays in regard with the order size.

Well I just took it as a "sign". I hope he doesn't process the order anymore. :)

I'm honestly not worried about it finally. Just the waiting for the first few months until I said "screw it" made for some real unhappy feelings....

Yeah, Mike's a good guy, his products are good, and his prices are good. He's just overrun like other "small shops" that make bullets. You might imagine with the primer situation, if you were casting bullets, YOUR regular order rate might jump to double or triple the usual - and that just might keep you busy for a long time just to catch up.
