Is the 20ga Rem 1100 smaller than the 12ga?

Is the whole gun scaled down to 20ga size, or is it basically a 12ga 1100 stuffed with 20ga parts?

Is the short stock on the Youth model just a regular stock minus an inch, or are the dimensions of the grip area also reduced?

PS- are wood stocks available for the Youth model? I thought they were a few years ago, but I don't see them on Remington's site.

I believe they made a 20ga that was the same frame as the 12ga, but most of them that were made were LT-20's which is a smaller frame. The stock on a LT-20 will fit the 28ga and the .410ga 1100's. I just bought a full size stock from Numrich gun parts to cut down for my little girls to learn to shoot with. The oldest is three, can't be thinking about starting them off too soon.

Check the model on the gun to see if it is a LT or not that should determine whether or not it's a large size.

Looks like wood is available to replace the synthetic stuff on the LT-20, too.

The first 1100's in 20 ga. were made on the standard 12 ga. frame and then the light weight (LW & LT) was developed. They no longer make the larger version of the 1100 in 20 ga. I have owned a couple of the older full size models and realy injoyed the control in rapid fire.
