One would think this would be a non-issue, but as anyone who has ever dealt with the Byzantine and capricious fustercluck that is the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources can tell you, common sense doesn't play a significant role in Minnesota hunting regulations.

I think Minnesota requires at least a .23 caliber for big game hunting, so the 6.8 would qualify.

MinScout is correct. 6.8 SPC is legal. The list of legal big game cartridges in Minnesota can be found here. About 30 entries down you will see "6.8x43mm Remington SPC."

What guns are chambered in 6.8? I think the Olympic Arms AR, but are there others now?

A number of companies make uppers in 6.8, ranging in price from $300-$1,000.

If I am not mistaken, there are several bolt actions available from Remington in this caliber, using both the 700 and the 7 actions (and possibly the 40x as well).

Not too unusual when you consider they developed the round, eh?

Thompson/Center offers a 6.8SPC barrel for the Contender, also.

AR-15 uppers and/or rifles are available from PRI, MSTN, Noveske Rifleworks, Barrett, DPMS, Model 1 Sales, Ameetec, Olympic, and Stag.. and probably others.
